Well, I actually AM rage-quitting for the day now, because I'm fracked off enough with stuff going in the world already, so getting more stress out of the thing I'm trying to do for fun is not healthy, so I'mma go plat Stardew Valley, which only gets mildly vexing at its worst.Ĭlick to expand.Sounds like you pressed the 'New Campaign' Button instead of 'Continue' or loading your more recent save. (I'm already peeved off that it looks like (due to the unhelpful way that the campaign was set up and labelled) I will have to do the Vanguard missions AGAIN, because somehow, instead of moving to the Kir'ko missions, it restarted the campaign.) Is this just really bad luck on the random map, or am I just so hopelessly bad at AoW I should just give up? The other doomstack showing up to jump on another city farther south (from the enemy that is to the north) was the final straw. (And I really hate that the AI apparently is capable of seeing EXACTLY where all my cities to attack despite never sending out any recon units the first doomstack sailed right past my captial (where my units had just about got back to, seeing as all the quest stuff and monster nests (to, y'know, get XP and units and do the stuff with whatshisface with the xenoplague) and made a beeline for another (newer) city.
My starting areas were nothing but double-food areas I did try and send out some colonisers right away to build up a base to start getting enough money to even maintain a decent army, but of course you can have no idea where the enemy are to start with because of the random maps. The two enemies is turning up in turn 20 with multiple massive doomstacks larger than me (I've barely just got the xenoplague units to be able to spawn stuff) with no fracking chance of even getting the barely stack and a half (I HAD before having to re-take one of my cities) to get to attack them in time, and despite putting my colonies on building militia buildings straight away, they did NOTHING but give the enemy stacks more XP. Uh, okay, how in the merry hell are you supposed to do the second Dvar mission?
